I couldn't pick a more perfect day to highlight for my first blog post. It's got everything- island, horses, stunning details... I remember talking with Bethany and Keagan on the phone when they first inquired. Little did I know that their wedding would be one of my favorites to shoot and edit. I also didn't; know that right before I would board the ferry, a seagull would steal my hotdog right out of my hands... Anyways-They were a joy to work with! It probably helps that they were so truly in the marriage mindset for their small island ceremony with their closest friends and family. I was VERY pregnant with my daughter, and walking through the island was actually bearable because of the jovial positivity of those they surrounded themselves with.
When photographing somewhere famous for specific shots, I always aim to get something unique that still shows our location. We took a few images on the famous porch and lobby of the Grand Hotel, but stuck to the gardens and natural beauty of the island homes themselves as we made our way up to the ceremony sight at The Butterfly House.
